Prepped, primed and ready to go
The Adina Polocrosse World Cup teams have arrived in Warwick more prepared for competition than ever before after a record number of pre-World Cup test matches were held between competing nations.
With all teams taking their training so seriously, spectators are guaranteed to witness some of the best World Cup action in the event’s history.
In July 2018, prior to the final Australian World Cup team selection, the Australian squad traveled to Zambia for a test match with the Aussies winning 3-0. In February this year, the official Australian World Cup team played New Zealand in Ballarat, Victoria winning 2-0. They then travelled to New Zealand for a second test in March, also coming away victorious with a 2-0 win.
Zambia played a warm-up international test series in March against the UK where Zambia won both series (2-1 and 3-0). Zambia is a team to watch, having pushed Australia out of the last World Cup final to secure second overall; a very impressive result for a country with only 80 registered players - versus thousands of players in Australia!
In March, the USA played Ireland in Alabama winning 2-1. In February, Ireland also played against Zimbabwe, who won all three matches. Zimbabwe also played the #1 ranked team, South Africa, in March. South Africa won all three games.
